Neil’s Walk of Fame Star Ceremony date announced

Neil will receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday September 15 2011, at 11am (not 11.30am as is the norm), at 6243 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Frolic Room Bar next to The Pantages Theatre. Jason Segel and Joss Whedon will both be attending as guest speakers.

NPH to present at Grammys

Neil has been added to the list of presenters for this year’s Grammy awards. The ceremony takes place at the Staples Center this coming Sunday, February 13th, and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8pm til 11.30pm.

Eight-time GRAMMY^® winner, current nominee, and 2011 MusiCares^® Person of the Year Barbra Streisand will appear in a rare performance on the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards^® (www.grammy.com), and three-time GRAMMY winner Kris Kristofferson will introduce Streisand’s performance. Pop singer/actor Miley Cyrus, two-time Emmy^® winner Neil Patrick Harris, Kristofferson, six-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee John Legend, current nominee Paramore, and actor Seth Rogen have been added as presenters to Music’s Biggest Night^®. Neil to attend People’s Choice Awards

Neil has been announced as one of the celebs set to attend the People’s Choice awards next Wednesday, January 5th. The awards take place at the Nokia Theater in LA and will be broadcast live on CBS.

Neil joins Trevor LIVE lineup

The Trevor Project have announced that Neil will be joining a number of star names for at this year’s Trevor LIVE event. Neil will be performing a duet with James Marsden at the event, which takes place Sunday, December 5th at the Hollywood Palladium.

Hollywood’s most talented and irreverent stars will gather at the Hollywood Palladium to celebrate “Trevor LIVE”, the annual show benefitting The Trevor Project on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Recognizing the suicide prevention efforts of community leaders, the Trevor Life Award honoree is Kathy Griffin, and Trevor Hope Award honoree is Levi Strauss & Co., with guest performances by Sarah Silverman, Wayne Brady, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, Neil Patrick Harris and James Marsden, Queen Latifah, Telly Leung, The Dan Band, and Tracie Thoms. This one-of-a-kind show is under the guidance of Special Guest Producing Director Adam Shankman, with Special Guest Musical Director Ricky Minor, Special Guest Choreographer Mia Michaels, and Special Guest Script Writers Carol Liefer and Bruce Vilanch.

“Trevor LIVE closes an historic year for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community as the tragic losses of young people have caused a resounding national outcry calling for an end to the bullying aimed at LGBTQ young people,” said Charles Robbins, Executive Director of The Trevor Project. “This event honors vanguards Kathy Griffin and Levi Strauss & Co. who are helping to usher in positive cultural change in this country. Neil was the Trevor Life Award Honoree at last year’s event, and was elected to the board of directors earlier this year. While we don’t really think he’ll ever see this, we wanted to put together a bunch of the best reviews, for your reading pleasure. Pictures: Neil Patrick Harris performs Oscars Opening Number

Despite Tweeting to the contrary following rumours earlier in the week, Neil did indeed perform the opening number at tonight’s 82nd Annual Academy Awards. He technically didn’t lie, as Martin Short was nowhere to be seen; though it’s thought that Mr Short was supposed to join him but a recent family emergency kept him away.

NPH presents Joss Whedon with PGA Award

Neil presented Joss Whedon with the Vanguard Award for technology and new media at last night’s 21st Annual Producers Guild of America Awards.

Neil Patrick Harris presented the Vanguard Award for technology and new media to writer-director-producer Joss Whedon, calling him “perhaps the only pioneer in the field of sing-along blogs,” a reference to “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along blog,” on which they collaborated.

“Joss Whedon doesn’t just build stories, he builds entire universes,” Harris said, admitting that he had just begun to work on Internet projects. Whedon likened the award to Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize — “it’s (for) what you’re going to do.”

HIMYM Musical Number available on iTunes

“Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit”, the musical number from HIMYM’s 100th episode, is available to purchase on iTunes ahead of the episode’s premiere this coming Monday. It’s available internationallyas well as in the US – this link is to the UK store, where the song costs £0.79 – and has a 2 minute 50 second runtime.

Also newly available is an official audio copy of the Commentary! The Musical soundtrack. It too is available internationally on iTunes and as an MP3 download from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.

We’ve added a selection of photos from the 100th episode celebration held at the Paley Centre on Thursday night to our gallery, and you can watch the cast being introduced in this YouTube video.

The cast have been hitting the promotional circuit ahead of the landmark episode, and there are various behind-the-scenes clips and interviews around, in addition to the Entertainment Tonight video we linked earlier this week. The following articles all contain some spoilers for the “Girls vs Suits”: ChicagoNow has a short interview which includes the first 40 seconds of the musical number, TVOvermind have internationally viewable versions of all the CBS behind-the scenes videos, Zap2it talk to Neil and the rest of the cast, as do IGN.
