Neil will once again host the Tony Awards this year, which will take place on June 10th from the Beacon Theater in Manhattan and be broadcast on CBS.

Neil hosted the black tie gala to celebrate the opening of the Smith Center in Las Vegas last night. We’ve added photos to the gallery.

“Making a new performing arts center rise from the desert is more complicated than a Wynn whim,” joked host Neil Patrick Harris early in a performance being filmed for future PBS broadcast.

Harris also had a joke to illustrate how the very name suggests a building that can be for everyone. “Smith just happens to be the name that appears on 68 percent of the registries in Las Vegas hotels.”

Neil is set to host the opening gala for the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday March 10.

The Smith Center’s Opening Celebration will take place Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 7:00pm. Actor Neil Patrick Harris will host the celebration which will feature performances by Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson; country artists Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Martina McBride; singer songwriter Carol King; trumpeter Arturo Sandoval; violinist Joshua Bell; gospel great Mavis Staples; Train lead singer Pat Monahan; and American Ballet Theater dancers Marcello Gomes and Luciana Paris.

Neil and David performed at Trevor Live! last night, we’ve added pictures to the gallery and red carpet videos have started appearing online. Watch them talk to the Trevor Project red carpet interviewers here.

While they were in New York last week, Neil and David recorded an episode of The Chew with chef Mario Batali. Airdate is yet to be officially confirmed but is expected to be early January. The Chew airs weekdays at 1et/12pt/c on ABC.

Neil is also scheduled to make his annual appearance narrating the Candlelight Processional at Walt Disney World next week, December 10th-12th.

Neil will be hosting the 65th Annual Tony Awards this coming Sunday, June 12th, and some details have started to emerge about the performances that can be expected on the night. Neil will be taking part in a performance from April’s limited run revival of Company ahead of its cinema release on June 15, and according to BroadwayWorld.com (the linked article contains detailed information about who will be performing what on the night, so if you prefer surprises, don’t click!) “a highly theatrical number performed by Neil Patrick Harris and created by David Javerbaum will open the telecast”.

Neil will be appearing on The View and The Late Show with David Letterman this Thursday to promote the show.

Finally, in non-Tonys news, Neil has been nominated in the first annual Critics’ Choice Awards in the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category, for his role as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother. The awards will air on ReelzChannel on June 22nd, and Variety has the full list of nominees.

If you weren’t lucky enough to be at Avery Fisher Hall to see Company last month, you can now see a first look clip of the cinematic release. The New York Philharmonic YouTube has posted a video of the cast performing Side By Side. Tickets are now on sale for your chance to catch this in movie theaters, starting June 15th (Neil’s birthday).

The New York Philharmonic, EMK Productions and Screenvision are proud to present Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” in movie theatres across the nation. The production was shot in early April as part of the Philharmonic’s spring gala. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) lead an all-star cast which included Patti LuPone, Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report), Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Craig Bierko and Martha Plimpton. Company’s plot revolves around Bobby (a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage), the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends. It’s a concept musical composed of short vignettes linked by a celebration for Bobby’s 35th birthday.

And if you hadn’t already heard, further to the rumour last week that Neil would be hosting this year’s Tony Awards, it’s true, and Neil confirmed it in a tweet last week. The ceremony takes place at the Beacon Theater in New York on June 12, and will be broadcast live on CBS (8/7c, 8pm time delay on the West Coast).

Deadline reports that Neil will once again host the award ceremony, which takes place on Sunday, June 12th.

He previously hosted the awards in 2009, for which he won an Emmy.

Last night saw Neil presenting the Spike Video Game Awards 2010 and EW caught up with him beforehand to discuss his gaming preferences. And whilst it may be a bit late to link to a promo for a show which has now aired, how could we not share this?

Spike TV have announced that Neil will be hosting their eighth annual video games awards, to be broadcast live this Sunday on Spike TV.

 The eighth annual “VGAs” will be a global event, broadcasting in over 175 territories and countries around the world and gathering some of the most notable names in video games, Hollywood, music, sports and more to honor the outstanding achievements within the video game industry over the past year.  The two-hour event, taking place in Los Angeles, CA, will premiere LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Neil will also be appearing on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson this coming Friday, December 10th.
