Nominations have been announced for the 2009 Satellite Awards and Neil is up for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture made for Television.
How I Met Your Mother has been nominated for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical.
Winners will be announced on 20th December.
This week’s EW features a look at the season premiere – you can read brief extracts from their interview with Neil here (contains spoilers about Barney and Robin’s future).
Meanwhile, for fans in the United Kingdom, E4 started airing the first season yesterday and are showing episodes daily at 7.30pm. Unfortunately, looking at user comments on E4’s website it would appear that the show is suffering from editing due to its relatively early time slot.

Not suprisingly (to us at least!) Neil has once again been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. A full list of nominees can be viewed here.
HIMYM has also been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series.
As you will see, one thing’s for sure – Neil won’t lose out to Jeremy Piven this year!
Neil is, of course, hosting the ceremony which takes place on 20th September.
Edit: As has been pointed out in the comments, Dr Horrible has also been nominated in the “Outstanding Special Class – Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs” category!
CBS have announced their fall schedule and HIMYM will return at 8.00 on Monday, 21st September.
