Dr Horrible wins the Emmy!

Neil has won his first Emmy Award – Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog took home the award for Outstanding Special Class – Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Programs at last night’s Creative Arts Emmys, beating off stiff competition from Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart, 30 Rock’s Kenneth the Page, and Battlestar Galactica. Neil was there to pick up the award along with Felicia Day, Nathan Fillion, Simon Helberg, Maurissa Tancharoen and all three Whedon brothers, and you can see some pictures from last night in our gallery. And there’s a photo of Neil and Nathan posted on Twitter by Maurissa, here.

In other news, Neil recently lent his voice to a couple of episodes of Robot Chicken recently, episodes 14 and 16 of season 4 which went out in August. Sorry that we couldn’t warn you in advance!


Creative & Primetime Emmy Awards

Don’t forget, the Creative Emmy Awards airs on E! tonight from 8pm, and you can also catch Neil presenting an award in the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, on ABC from 8pm tomorrow.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Neil (plus Alyson Hannigan and The Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco) and he talks about the pros and cons of winning an Emmy in this video.

Last but not least, Emmy time is a busy time in the showbiz world, and Neil’s been out and about again – this time at the Emmy Awards Presenters’ Gift Lounge.

Neil will be appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show tomorrow (Friday 19th).

According to this reliable source, Neil will once again be narrating for the Walt Disney World Resort’s Candlelight Processional on December 1-3. This will be Neil’s third consecutive year narrating for the Processional.

Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart went on set for episode 4.02, and you can watch the video here.

HIMYM triumphs in the “Tubey” Awards

Winners of Television Without Pity’s Tubey Awards have been announced and HIMYM won “Most Underrated Show”, “Favourite Character” – Barney Stinson, “Favourite Actor” – Neil Patrick Harris and “Show with best internet extension”!

Staying with the awards theme, E Online have posted a new video of Neil chatting backstage at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys and there are short clips from the show here and here. You can catch the show at 8pm on E! on Saturday, September 20th.


Neil to host Creative Arts Emmys

In a press release earlier today, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced that Neil and Sarah Chalke are to host this year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

How I Met Your Mother‘s Neil Patrick Harris and Scrubs‘ Sarah Chalke will host the 2008 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards on Saturday, September 13 from the NOKIA Theatre it was announced today by Lee Miller and Steve Venezia, Executive Producers of the Creative Arts show. The show will air as a 2-hour special on E! Entertainment Television on Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m.

Spike Jones Jr. will return to produce the show for the fourteenth year. “Everyone knows how great Neil and Sarah are as actors. Now they’ll get the opportunity to see how fearless they are as live hosts,” said Jones, Jr.”
