Neil and David have joined the L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Culinary Cookout 2011 as celebrity hosts. The event takes place on Sunday November 6th from 12-4pm at Culver Studios, Culver City, California.

L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Culinary Cookout, hosted by Chef Suzanne Goin, partner Caroline Styne (Lucques, A.O.C., Tavern) along with Chef David Lentz (The Hungry Cat), announces that Neil Patrick Harris and his partner, David Burtka, have joined the culinary cookout as the 2011 Honorary Celebrity Hosts. Goin, Styne and Lentz have again enlisted the support and generosity of their culinary friends around the nation who will donate their time and services to raise funds and awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) in their quest to find better treatments and cures for all kids with cancer. The cookout is scheduled on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 12 – 4PM at Culver Studios. The Presenting Sponsor for the cookout will be Volvo Cars of North America.

“We’re so thrilled that Neil and David have agreed to participate and lend their support to this event,” said Goin. “This is not only a culinary celebration for adults; we’ve designed it to celebrate children. Neil has generously donated the Swag Bag he received at this year’s Emmy Awards to Food on Foot for auction. Neil is on the Board of Directors of Food on Foot, an organization dedicated to providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets. Earlier this year Neil raised $100,000 for the charity by progressing to the semi finals of Celebrity Jeopardy.

The Trevor Project have announced that Neil will be joining a number of star names for at this year’s Trevor LIVE event. Neil will be performing a duet with James Marsden at the event, which takes place Sunday, December 5th at the Hollywood Palladium.

Hollywood’s most talented and irreverent stars will gather at the Hollywood Palladium to celebrate “Trevor LIVE”, the annual show benefitting The Trevor Project on Sunday, December 5, 2010. Recognizing the suicide prevention efforts of community leaders, the Trevor Life Award honoree is Kathy Griffin, and Trevor Hope Award honoree is Levi Strauss & Co., with guest performances by Sarah Silverman, Wayne Brady, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, Neil Patrick Harris and James Marsden, Queen Latifah, Telly Leung, The Dan Band, and Tracie Thoms. This one-of-a-kind show is under the guidance of Special Guest Producing Director Adam Shankman, with Special Guest Musical Director Ricky Minor, Special Guest Choreographer Mia Michaels, and Special Guest Script Writers Carol Liefer and Bruce Vilanch.

Following the success of 2008′s telethon, Stand Up To Cancer will once again be taking over the airwaves to raise money for cancer research, on Friday, September 10th. The telethon will air live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One, and VH1.

Executive produced by Laura Ziskin, the special will be hosted Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer, and Brian Williams (the anchors, respectively, of the CBS, ABC and NBC evening news programs), and will feature numerous celebrity cancer survivors who exemplify that cancer can affect even the smartest, strongest and toughest people in our lives. Those expected to participate include Christina Applegate, Lance Armstrong, Fran Drescher, Elizabeth Edwards, Delta Goodrem, Michael C. Hall, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sharon Osbourne, Robin Roberts, Maura Tierney, Sofia Vergara, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ethan Zohn. The broadcast will be dedicated to the 12 million U.S. cancer survivors and illustrate how groundbreaking research can change the tide in the fight against the disease. Neil recently pledged his support after a fire destroyed an Albuquerque theatre where he once performed. Neil talked to Action 7 News about the disaster, and you can see a short interview with his brother Brian here.

“My brother Brian let me know about it and I looked it up online and I was shocked,” Harris told Action 7 News by phone. “I was John Darling in the production of ‘Peter Pan’ that they did. It was one of the first bigger scale things that I had ever done,” said Harris. Harris said he’s willing to increase awareness and help out however he can to keep this community theater from closing the curtain.”It’s a hard industry to maintain,” said Harris. “You know, community theatre is tough. It’s scrappy, and so to lose a lot of your resources in one fell swoop is a big blow.”

It has now been confirmed that Neil is voicing the character of Lou in Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. You can hear him briefly in the trailer at 0.40 and 0.58. The movie is due for release July 30 this year.

Finally, Neil is due to guest host Live with Regis & Kelly with Kelly Ripa next Monday, June 7th.

Now that the episode has aired, Tim Stack of EW’s PopWatch has posted an interview conducted with Neil during the filming of the episode, and it contains mild spoilers. They talk about how Neil got the gig on Glee, working with Joss, and his fears for the future of Dr Horrible.

There’s also a video interview on MTV.com, conducted on the red carpet at TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people gala a week or two back.

In the UK, Dream On will air on E4 this coming Monday (May 24th) at 9pm, repeated throughout the week, and on Channel 4 next Friday (May 28th) at 8pm for those of you without digital. “Dream On” is the only one of Neil’s songs from the episode that has an official studio version, which you can buy on iTunes or here on Amazon (coming soon), and features on the Volume 3: Showstoppers soundtrack album, which is out now.

In non-Glee news, Stand Up To Cancer today announced that following their September 2008 telethon, there will be another this year, to be broadcast on September 10th. More details will be announced as the date approaches, and Neil may not be involved, but he is a strong supporter of their work so we’re keen to publicise their event here.

As previously posted, Neil will be appearing in the semi-final of Celebrity Jeopardy against Cheech Marin and Kaczmarek. We can now confirm that their semi-final will be the third, airing next Wednesday, May 5th. Neil will once again be playing for Food On Foot – the winner will receive $1m for their charity, and the second and third placed players will receive $250,000 and $100,000 respectively. All of the semi finalists will take away $50,000 for their charity.
