First trailer for “Rio”

By Rach | Published Fri May-21-10 -

Moviefone has released the first trailer for the upcoming animated feature, Rio, starring Neil Patrick Harris and Anne Hathaway. You can view it here. The Fox movie is due for release “some time in 2011″.

ETA: Thanks to Pikka for pointing out that Neil is no longer listed by IMDB as part of the project, and his voice isn’t in the trailer. We’ll keep you updated if we get confirmation either way, but at the moment it looks like Neil’s super-packed schedule has left him unable to participate in this one!

Neil Patrick Harris lends voice to ‘The Penguins of Madagascar’

By Rach | Published Wed Jan-20-10 -

Neil has recorded a part in Nickelodeon’s hit series, The Penguins of Madagascar. He will voice the character of Dr Blowhole, a “malevolent dolphin who also happens to be the penguins’ longtime nemesis”.

The Penguins of Madagascar is a spin off of the hit film, Madagascar. Neil’s episode will air on Nickelodeon, Feb 15th at 8pm, and is the show’s first Nickelodeon special.

“The Penguins of Madagascar has been a huge success in transferring from film to television,” said Brown Johnson, President, Animation, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group.  ”We’re thrilled to give fans this fantastic TV special featuring the multi-talented Neil Patrick Harris as a hilariously disgruntled dolphin.”

In “Dr. Blowhole’s Revenge,” Dr. Blowhole, tired of the penguins foiling his plans to rule land and sea, has returned to annihilate the band of brothers so he may take over the world once and for all.  The first step in his plan is to kidnap King Julien, who Dr. Blowhole mistakenly thinks is Skipper’s best friend.  The penguins set off to rescue their annoying lemur neighbor, only to find they have waddled right into a shocking double-cross.  Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private must escape the trap and save the planet before Dr. Blowhole succeeds in flooding the Earth’s surface in an effort to wipe out the existence of all land mammals.

Neil to play musical villain in Batman: The Brave & The Bold

By Hilary | Published Wed Jun-17-09 -

TV Guide report that Neil will voice the Music Meister in a season two episode of the Cartoon Network’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

“This is a big obnoxious, Broadway-type musical,” jokes Brave and the Bold producer James Tucker, who says Harris is “pitch perfect” in “Mayhem of the Music Meister!” as a former band-camp nerd turned megalomaniac. The Music Meister—an amalgamation of various DC Comics villains—“has the power to create song wherever he goes, and he’s trying to dominate the world,” Tucker says, before pointing out that the episode’s “plot itself is just the framework, an excuse to have everybody sing!” Tucker and producer/story editor Michael Jelenic wrote five original songs for the episode.

The episode is due to air in the fall but will be screened at The Brave & The Bold’s panel at San Diego Comic Con on July 24th at 10.00am.

Neil and Josh have once againt leant their voices to the animated comedy, this time joined by Jason. You can catch them in this Sunday’s season finale, May 17th at 9/8c on FOX.

Peter has his palm read by a psychic who reveals that he had a fascinating past life as Griffin Peterson, a dignified gentleman who vied for the love of Lady Redbush in 17th century England and in the newly founded American colony of Quahog. It was a time of great love and adventure where King Stewart reigned supreme, the smartest dog in the room was the court jester, army lieutenants were merely boys and even old England loved “How I Met Your Mother” (Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris and Josh Radnor guest-voice) in the “Peter’s Progress” season finale episode of FAMILY GUY.
