“A host of Broadway stars, jazz musicians and classical artists took part in a tribute to the works of Stephen Sondheim in March 2005.
On March 19, Symphony Space presented its 35th Wall to Wall concert at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Wall to Wall Stephen Sondheim began at 11 AM and continued for 12 hours at the New York City landmark. Hundreds of artists gathered to interpret Sondheim’s lyrics and music, some played by a full orchestra, others featuring intimate jazz arrangements.”

“Also praiseworthy were performances by Neil Patrick Harris (“Finishing the Hat” from Sunday in the Park with George and “If You Can Find Me I’m Here” from Evening Primrose); Michael Arden (“Giants in the Sky” from Into the Woods“); Heidi Grant Murphy (“Green Finch and Linnet Bird” from “Sweeney Todd”); and the male vocal group Hudson Shad with the charming title song from Saturday Night.”
TalkinBroadway
“Neil Patrick Harris’s fresh “Finishing the Hat” creates empathy, his youthful sound working in his favor to create a less hardened characterization than one is used to hearing.”
