After his massive success as Tonys host, Variety is reporting that Neil is close to closing a deal to host this year’s Emmy Awards. Everybody cross your fingers that the deal goes through!
Update: Michael Ausiello is now reporting that “multiple sources” confirm that Neil has now formally signed on to host the ceremony on 20th September.

That would be BEYOND awesome. But would that reduce his chances of winning an Emmy this year…?

Pikka – that’s actually been something we’ve been discussing on a forum I post on for a few weeks now in the hopes that Neil would get this gig. The general consensus is that the way they Emmy voting is done shouldn’t affect his chances of winning just because he’s the host. We hope, anyway!

Squeeeeee!!! I really hope this happens. And he has to win this year too. It would be, to quote HIMYM, “awesome x awesome… awesome squared” if he both hosted the show and won an Emmy!

Oh my god! That would be incredible!
