Various online sources are reporting that Neil is set to host next year’s Oscars after Hugh Jackman turned down the gig. There has been no official statement one way or the other as yet; as recently as last week the word was that Neil was reluctant to take the role, should he be offered it, in an attempt to avoid overexposure.

Wow, that is fantastic that he is even the “go-to” name that is next in consideration after Hugh Jackman turned it down. I read that earlier today on another gossip site (Lainey Gossip) and agreed that Neil should probably turn it down to avoid overexposure. But still – the fact that he is even the next name on these people’s minds to take the job after Hugh jackman turns it down is unbelievably awesome. I think maybe he shouldn’t do it because as much as I would love him too it might be too much, but hopefully they’ll remember him next year or the year after if Hugh turns them down again.
