New Line Cinema have released five new posters for A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas – individual promotional posters for Harold, Kumar, and NPH, and then a final theatrical poster combining all three, as well as a more abstract theatrical poster.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas is released on November 4 2011.

The Smurfs top Friday’s Box Office

Despite a less than friendly reaction from the critics, The Smurfs topped Friday’s Box Office, edging out Cowboys and Aliens.

Both MovieWeb and ComingSoon.net were part of the group of reporters invited to the Smurfs set last year to interview the cast.

The Smurfs is released across theaters in the US & Canada in 3D and 2D on July 29th, and August 10th in the UK.

And congrats to Neil on winning the “Favourite Funnyguy” category at eonline‘s annual Tater Tops awards!

The Best and the Brightest in selected cinemas this week!

The Best and the Brightest is opening theatrically in New York and LA this week, and you can read all about it in this blog on the official site.

You can catch the limited run at the Laemmle Sunset 5 (Los Angeles) and the Quad Cinema (New York), running June 24-30, and find details on more screenings in Pennsylvania, Oregon, Florida, Washington, Utah and Brooklyn here.

And if that weren’t enough, the cast are doing their bit to promote, too – Neil will be on Conan this Monday night, which you can catch at 11/10c on tbs. Additionally, Amy Sedaris will be on Letterman on Tuesday, John Hodgman is hitting The Daily Show on Thursday, and Christopher McDonald will be at the Apple Store, Soho, with co-writer/director Josh Shelov at 6pm on Thursday.

Movie release date updates!

Harold & Kumar 3 – “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” – will open in US cinemas on November 4th this year.

The new “Harold & Kumar” comedy picks up six years after the duo’s last adventure. After years of growing apart, Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) have replaced each other with new best friends and are preparing for their respective Christmas celebrations. But when a mysterious package arrives at Kumar’s door, his attempt to deliver it to Harold’s house ends with him inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree. With his in-laws out of the house for less than a day, Harold decides to cover his tracks rather than come clean, and reluctantly embarks on another ill-advised but hilarious journey with Kumar, taking them through New York City on Christmas Eve in search of the perfect Christmas tree.

And according to EW, The Smurfs will now open five days earlier than expected – on July 29 instead of August 3.

WIN! Tickets to The Smurfs NYC Premiere

Sony Pictures Entertainment have launched a contest to win tickets to the World Premiere of The Smurfs. To enter, visit FaceOfTheFan.com/TheSmurfs and upload a video explaining “why you should be on the red carpet at the Premiere of The Smurfs and receive the red carpet treatment”. The video should be no more than 60 seconds long and contain only the image and voice of the entrant.

The winner will receive 4 tickets to the premiere of The Smurfs, along with roundtrip airfare for all four people, and two consecutive nights hotel accomodation in NYC. The five finalists will all receive a Sony PlayStation 3 320GB system with PlayStation Move Bundle.

The premiere date is yet to be determined, and the contest is only open to residents of the USA aged 18 or over. Videos must be submitted by 12:00PT on April 13th, and the five chosen finalists will be made available for public viewing starting May 9th. Full rules and T&Cs can be found here.

The Smurfs in 3D opens across America on August 3rd.
