These days, the amount of web series available online rivals that of actual television programming. In addition, the once held misconception that web series are some how inherently inferior to TV shows is largely dying off. One such web series that helped buck that notion is 2008’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. But don’t worry if you didn’t catch it online, no need to search and watch it episodically. Netflix’s has added the movie version, which is essentially the full length story arc sewn together, to its Watch Instantly service. Don’t have much time to spare? Fear not, this genre gem is less than 45 minutes long.

Neil joined his friend Chris Hardwick for the latest episode of the Nerdist podcast.

Chris sits down with the enormously talented Neil Patrick Harris to talk about magic, growing up in Hollywood and Neil’s new show that will be on the Nerdist YouTube Channel!

Stage Tube has a video of Neil on the Red Carpet of the Smith Center opening a couple of weeks ago. The opening will air as a PBS special sometime in the future, and you can catch a preview of the gala below.

He’ll also be appearing on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson this Friday, November 4th. The show airs on CBS at 12.35am/11.35pm Central. The Season Six Premiere of Coaster Radio features an interview with Neil. Neil currently provides the intro and outro for every episode of the Original Theme Park Podcast, and helped to promote Theme Park Change, a charity event that ran in April to raise money for Project Angel Food.

On this week’s show, Neil joins the guys for some excellent theme park talk.

He tells the guys about how he first became fascinated with the amusement industry. He talks about his favorite rides and attractions and what he looks for in a good ride.

He also talks about his “behind the scenes” involvement in some attractions and shows that you have probably experienced yourself.

Neil looks back on the Halloween Yard Haunt that he built in his own backyard and turns to EB and Mike for advice on what rides he should experience with his twin babies.

On the Smurf promotional trail, Neil and Jayma talked to NBC’s iVillage and Entertainment Weekly, Neil talked to TheSevenSees.com and went on Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year, and there’s a nice interview with Neil at the National Post, another one at CinemaBlend and IAmRogue.com (with a video here), A Minute With Neil Patrick Harris via Reuters, and a write-up from Neil’s recent Smurfs press conference at Parade. Neil also called into a few radio shows to promote the movie, listen to him talking to LiteRock105 and Dave Ryan in the Morning.

Neil also voiced a character in yesterday’s BBC Radio 4 Saturday Play, the Great Tennessee Monkey Trial. If you’re in the UK you can catch it on iPlayer for 6 more days, here. The play was first broadcast in November 2009 as a co-production between the BBC and LA Theater Works.

So while we were out of the country, Neil was on… everything. And for our brief hiatus – both myself and Hilary are heading off to San Diego for Comic Con tomorrow, so there probably won’t be any updates until we get home sometime next week. We’ll be around on Twitter so if there’s any major news we’ll try and post about it, but if we miss anything, we’re not neglecting our duties!

Neil recently participated in a twenty five minute webcam chat with the LA Times’ Tom O’Neil, where they talk about the Emmys, the Tonys, and How I Met Your Mother. The chat was recorded before nominations for this year’s Emmy awards were announced this morning, and sadly this year Neil missed out on being nominated for HIMYM.

He also sat down talked to CinemaBlend about the next installment of Harold & Kumar, and joined Jayma Mays to talk to Access Hollywood to talk about the upcoming Smurfs movie, his hosting duties, and the twins amongst other things.
