NPH wins #biggaybattle
01.06.10

AfterElton have released the results, and Neil has beaten John Barrowman by a fair ol’ margin! There’s a lovely acceptance piece from Neil, as well as the full results.

“Huzzah! At last, I have risen atop John Barrowman! While excited, I must admit that I was worried he wouldn’t like it. And yes, it may have been uncomfortable at first, but I soon saw that he was enjoying himself and, therefore, so did I. Good times. A fine way to start Aught Ten.”

Be sure to visit AfterElton to read the rest of what Neil has to say!

AfterElton Man of the Decade – The Battle!
01.03.10

You have until midnight on Sunday to cast your vote in AfterElton.com’s Man of the Decade poll. As of Friday morning, 80% of the votes cast were split between Neil and John Barrowman, with less than twenty separating the two of them. Neil requested that we vote for him, and apparently the difference is now a lot more than 20 votes. But Barrowman isn’t one to stand by and watch, and entered the battle himself, as well as calling on friends to endorse his bid to win. And now on the NPH side, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day have joined in. So Neil fans, if you haven’t voted already, do it before time runs out!

In other news, there’s a wonderful new website called WhoseVoice.org. In their own words, they focus on “little known news stories behind the voiceovers, animation, video games and generally all things voice”. One of their first features is a really interesting look at Neil and all of the voice work that he’s done, with some clips you may not have seen before. Check it out here!

And a talk show heads up – Neil will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel this coming Wednesday, January 6th, presumably to promote the 100th episode and the episode he directed. Other guests include Jeremy Renner and Really Doe. You can catch it at 12.05am (11.05pm central) on ABC.

Neil dropped by the Regis & Kelly studios yesterday to collect the award for “Best Regis”.

“May I just say that I did not win the Emmy Award this year. I did win the Relly Award, and you would think  … you would think that this would be nice consolation, and would make me feel nice. And in fact, it does not.”

There’s a new Neil video on EW.com, and also it was announced last week that Neil will be joining ProjectAngelFood’s “InConcert – a Musical Celebration” which will be taking place on Saturday October 17th at the The Howard Fine Theatre in LA. You can purchase tickets here.

TV Guide Emmy Picks
09.15.09

TV Guide have posted their Emmy picks and they have Neil listed under both “should win” and “will win”. They also expect 30 Rock to take the Best Comedy prize, but list HIMYM as their dark horse in the category, saying “CBS has proven itself the king of the traditional sitcom, so if there is an upset, I’d look for Mother to steal the prize”.

You can make your own opinion heard in their Reader Poll.

NPH reacts to Emmy nod
07.16.09

Eonline have the first reaction quotes with some of this year’s Emmy nominees here.

Neil Patrick Harris, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for his work as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother: “I love being in the mix again this year, but am absolutely over the moon about HIMYM’s Best Comedy Series nomination. The only multicamera show in the mix! This kind of recognition is huge for us.  Just huge. It should be quite the night. Being asked to host the show—terrific.  Getting a third nomination—fantastic. Having the ability to scribble my name in the envelope backstage when no one is looking—priceless.”
